In-venue performance scheduled for October 2 was replaced with free public online presentation on October 30, 2020. 


Toronto Symphony Orchestra's concertmaster and a violinist in the New Orford String Quartet, Jonathan Crow, will lead the first Royal Conservatory Orchestra concert as concertmaster. The evening will also feature the new recipient of the Ihnatowycz Piano Prize, Sae Yoon Chon, as the piano soloist in Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto. 

Part of the Temerty Orchestral Program at The Glenn Gould School (GGS), the Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO) is widely regarded as an outstanding ensemble and one of the best training orchestras in North America. It consists of instrumental students in the undergraduate and graduate programs of The Glenn Gould School. Graduates of the RCO have joined the ranks of the greatest orchestras in the world.  

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Symphony No. 35 in D Major, K. 385 (“Haffner”) 
Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat Major, op. 73 (“Emperor”)
