Born in Toronto, violinist Boris Kupesic has performed and competed extensively throughout North America, Europe and Asia and is a graduate of Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, having studied with professors Valentin Zhuk, Nelli Shkolnikova and Mauricio Fuks. From 2006-2010 Boris was Assistant Concertmaster of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana housed in the Palau De Les Arts in Valencia, Spain under the music directorships of Lorin Maazel and Zubin Mehta. Since 2010, Boris has made Toronto home, having the privilege to perform with such ensembles as the Toronto Symphony, National Ballet of Canada and The Canadian Opera Company as well as maintaining a vibrant studio of wonderful pupils continuing the musical traditions that were passed along to him through his mentors.
