Heather Smith, MM, MBA
Heather Smith is the Chief Advancement Officer for The Frances Clark Center for Keyboard Pedagogy and co-creator of the Center’s national online course, A Pianist’s Guide to Studio Management. She is an examiner for The Royal Conservatory of Music and a former National Secretary-Treasurer of Music Teachers National Association.
Her writing appears in American Music Teacher, Piano Magazine, and Piano Inspires Kids, and she is a frequent presenter at national and international pedagogy conferences, including The Piano Conference: NCKP and MTNA. She has been recognized with The Frances Clark Center Outstanding Service Award, The Royal Conservatory of Music Teacher of Distinction, and the Utah Music Teachers Association Advocacy in Action Award.
Heather holds degrees in piano performance, accounting, and business administration, and previously worked as a tax manager before returning to a career in music and arts leadership.
She maintains a very small, invitation-based piano studio in Centerville, Utah, working with a limited number of committed students alongside her national leadership work.
