Jean-Luc Therrien

With over 25 of experience of performing experience and 10 years teaching and giving masterclasses in music academies around the world, my approach as a teacher is to give my students (from any age and level) the basic tools they need to gain independance when they practice and truly master the piano music they wish to work on in the future, whether it's for fun or for preparing for an exam/performance. I can teach in English, French and a litte bit in German.

Other than teaching, I have have adjudicated for several organizations including the Ontario Music Festivals Association, the Toronto Kiwanis Music Festival, the ORMTA Music Festival, Debut Atlantic, and given Masterclasses at music schools around the world including the Conservatoire de Musique du Québec and the Dalhousie University.

As a teacher, I put together a plan taylored for each student's needs and goals. I also teach in a positive and encouraging environment whilst demanding discipline and the best effort from my students.
