Guitar: Fusio Guitar Group (Adults)

What is Fusio?

Fusio is about playing in a band. It’s taught by guitarist, Bill Parsons. There are two types of bands: All Instruments: Fusio Jam Session and Fusio Guitar Group. In both, Bill teaches the art of ensemble playing, i.e. how to play in a band, or group. By fusing the musical personalities (and abilities) of the players, each group discovers its unique way of performing songs, this is Fusio. Fusio Guitar Group classes are 45-minutes each, scheduled between 12:00-2:00 pm on Sundays. 

Exact times, dates, and class placements will be decided by the instructor one week before the class start date. New students will be asked to submit a short demo to help the instructor determine playing level and optimal ensemble mix. 

What’s covered in the class

Guitar Group - Level I: Experienced Beginners (electric or acoustic guitar)
For guitarists with some experience, including those who used to play and want to get back into it. Group 1 learns to read staff & tab notation and chord charts. Students learn to play songs while developing skills in musicianship, technique, listening, and improvisation.

Guitar Group - Level 2: Intermediate, Advanced (electric or acoustic guitar)
For intermediate to advanced guitarists who want to play in a guitar ensemble. Group 2 uses staff & tab notation, chord charts, and lead sheets. Students build up a repertoire of songs and instrumental arrangements, while focussing on musicianship, technique, listening, and improvisation.
