COVID-19 Update: Examinations and Programming

Published on April 9, 2020

The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance and The Royal Conservatory fully supports social and physical distancing.  As a result and further to the order from the government of Ontario, our building is currently closed.  Please also note the following:

The RCM Certificate Program

The goals of the RCM since the virus outbreak have been to support teachers and to enable tens of thousands of registered students to complete their exams as planned. We have addressed these goals by making online teacher resources available and by offering online testing.  Remote examinations offer a viable solution to a very difficult problem.

We appreciate fully that the circumstances facing students and teachers across North America are varied and there are instances where the online examination and timetable do not work. Please be assured that we are here to help address and resolve those issues on a case by case basis.

  • Both The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists and the Royal Conservatory School have suspended in-person instruction and are moving to online instruction.  Emails will be sent to those currently registered no later than week of April 6, 2020.
